Smokey Bear Motel is a landmark in Capitan, New Mexico. Located directly in the beautiful heart of historical Lincoln County, it is the original birthplace as well as burial place of Smokey Bear. Designed in the rustic tradition of the Mountainous area that it represents, our rooms have new paint, carpet, drapes, bedspreads, lampshades, curtains and rods. All of our rooms are air conditioned and have refrigerators, microwaves, telephones and cable tv.

Our motel is situated only 12 miles from the famous, old western town of Lincoln which was the site of the famous, Lincoln County War, Billy the Kid's last escape and a stone's throw from historic White Oaks, an old mining town with historical significance to Southeastern New Mexico' early development.

We are within 30 minutes of everything interesting to do in Lincoln County.
